Walkway Sealcoating

Monday July 15, 2 crews from the paving company will arrive to edge, sweep and apply a layer of sand and sealer.  The plan is to seal all the walkways on that day weather permitting or soon thereafter.  The recommendation is to avoid using the walkways for 24 hours.

If you are a full time resident or are here for the summer, we realize this will be very difficult if not impossible for some people and dogs to exit and enter their home.  If it is not possible to avoid stepping on the walkway to exit your home, we have been advised to avoid the walkway until it is not tacky anymore which takes approximately 4 hours.  Drying times can vary so please take a look at the tackiness of the walkway in front of your steps before using it.

If it is not possible to avoid stepping on the walkway to exit your home, they also suggestes using a flat piece of cardboard to cushion your steps out after the sealer loses its tackiness.  Make sure to test the cardboard for slipperiness before use.

All homeowners are responsible for notifying any guests or renters in their unit about this work and the restrictions of use during the work period.

If you are here during the sealing process and have specific questions, please send us an email or give a call to the office.

NYSEG Update

NYSEG LogoWe have just received notice that NYSEG will be here mid-July to continue working on the upgrade of the electrical system in our area.  The work will start at cluster 8 and continue down the road all the way to Scudder Hill.  New conductors will be installed from the vaults to the existing transformers.  Once the work reaches Scudder Hill it will turn uphill and connect to the lines at the entry way of RRVA.  Once this connection is made the work should be completed trusting that there are no surprises or changes on the way.

Please be mindful of trucks, workers, and electrical equipment this month.  There will be a slight inconvenience in the fact that we will have to share the roads with the crew.

This is all we know at this time.  Another notice will be sent out as we get the information from NYSEG.
